How To Install WordPress

WordPress is the most popular CMS, powering around 25% of all websites in the world and responsible for over 76.5 million blogs. This guide provides all the required steps to get your WordPress site up and running!

1. Create a MySQL Database
2. Create an empty CloudSite
3. Retrieve your FTP publishing credentials

1. Download WordPress, it should be a .zip file named Wordpress-version_number.zip

2. Locate the zip file download, right click it and extract the files

3. Browse for your extracted WordPress files in your computer, and upload those files to /site/wwwroot/ via FTP.

   Make sure you upload the files inside the wordpress folder that was extracted

1. Go to your website's url or use the http://{yourcloudsitename}.gearhostpreview.com to access the WordPress installer wizard
2. Select your language and click Continue
3. Select Let's Go!
4. On your hosting portal, select the database you created and and put the provided information such as; database name, username, password, server in your WordPress wizard
5. Proceed with clicking the Submit button and Run the Install option
6. Fill out the rest of your required fields and click on Install WordPress to complete your installation
7. Enjoy WordPress!
