How do I create a CloudSite?

How do I publish my data?

You can publish your data using FTP, Git or Web Deploy.

What are your name servers?

If you are setting up your name servers on your domain registration – our Name Servers are ns1.gear.host and ns2.gear.host.

I use another provider for DNS, how do I point my website to my CloudSite?

A CloudSite comes with an application URL with in the format of http://appname.gear.host. Therefore please setup a CNAME record with your DNS provider to use your application URL.

Why is my domain not resolving?

DNS can take time to propagate. Also, your local nameserver will cache results; therefore, you must flush your local nameserver cache in order to effectively debug DNS updates.

What is my IP

The GearHost architecture allows for your IP to change multiple times. As such there is not a static IP attached to your CloudSite.

How do I set up Two-Factor Authentication on my GearHost account?

Our Two-Factor Authentication requires the Google Authenticator app for your mobile phone. Check out this article for more details.

How do I setup my SSL?

GearHost only accepts certificates in PFX format.
